Order of Magnitude Estimate

Defintion

An early estimate of the project's duration and budget, made using historical data. Order of magnitude estimates are usually offered at the project conception stage to give stakeholders a broad understanding of the project's requirements. These are not accurate and should only be taken as a broad estimate, +-50-100 percent of the end figures.
